Noble sweet Riesling. Dried, perfect raisins result in this liqueur-like specialty. White wine with a strong sweetness, but very lively with animating acidity and low alcohol content. Honey scent with smoky notes. Elegant aromas of overripe yellow fruits, especially extreme exotic notes enchant the palate.
Producer Information
The winery is located in the municipality of Laumersheim (Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. The family has been based here since the 17th century. Since 1992, the winery has been run by Philipp Kuhn Jr. who, in his own words, "changed everything from the ground up". The vineyards cover 25 hectares of vines in locations in the northern Palatinate. These include the VDP.Grossen Lagen Kirschgarten and Steinbuckel (Laumersheim), Saumagen (Kallstadt), Schwarzer Herrgott (Zell), Im großen Garten (Großkarlbach), as well as in the VDP.Ersten Lagen Kapellenberg (Laumersheim), Burgweg (Großkarlbach) and Steinacker (Kallstadt).They are 60% planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Muscat and (for the first time in Germany) Viognier, and 40% with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, St. Laurent, Blaufränkisch, Merlot, and as a rarity Sangiovese. The environmentally friendly and sustainable cultivation of the vineyards, the production and the sales are carried out according to the certified rules of the Fair'n Green association.
