The nose is very ripe with its combination of wood, menthol, mocha and liqueur-like aromas of plum and black cherry. There is reasonably good verve to the delicious middle weight flavors that terminate in a warm, grippy and slightly drying finish.

- Wine Spectator: Once again, the nose is very ripe with its combination of wood, menthol, mocha and liqueur-like aromas of plum and black cherry. There is reasonably good verve to the delicious middle weight flavors that terminate in a warm, grippy and slightly drying finish. This awkward effort is tough to read though I am concerned about the balance over the longer-term.
Producer Information
Domaine Jacques Prieur is a relatively large Burgundy producer that makes both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from esteemed vineyard holdings across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. The history of the domaine began in the 1860s, with the marriage of Claude Duvergey and Marie Taboureau. They first established the wine and spirits merchant business, Duvergey-Taboureau House, before buying property in Meursault – now the site of the modern Jacques Priuer domaine.Beginning in the late 1800s and continuing into the 20th Century, the family began investing in viticulture and purchasing vineyards, establishing vines in what have become some of the most sought after appellations in the Côte d'Or.
