            Producer Information

The Marche region is made up of one of the most beautiful and relaxing landscapes in all of Italy. Gentle hills and cultivated fields follow one another in a landscape that alternates the sea with the mountains, representing the best of the Italian countryside. A few kilometers from Ancona, the regional capital, is the small town of Morro d'Alba, one of the Castles of Jesi built around the year 1000 AD as a military fortress; here, in the Sant'Amico district, there is a young but already very renowned winery: Marotti Campi. Founded in 1999, the origins of the winery date back to the mid-19th century, when the Marotti family purchased the first land and built a villa right in the center of the company, which at the time was focused on sharecropping. As the decades passed, we moved towards viticulture, and in 1991 Giovanni Marotti Campi began an ambitious modernization process, which culminated in 1999 with the first Marotti Campi harvest. Today the winery is still run by Giovanni, with the help of his wife Francesca and his son Lorenzo. In the approximately 53 hectares of vineyards, the two symbolic vines of the area are mainly cultivated, Verdicchio and Lacrima, as well as a small percentage dedicated to Montepulciano , Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Sauvignon; agricultural practices are carried out with the utmost respect for the surrounding nature, trying to minimize the environmental impact. The result of this philosophy gives life to approximately 220,000 bottles, divided into ten labels: among these stand out the Lacrima di Morro d'Alba DOC “Orgiolo”, the Marche Rosso IGT “Donderé” and the very famous Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, declined in classic, superior and reserve versions, with the “Salmariano”. Elegant and refined bottles of white wine , which every year receive the success of national critics, as evidenced by the prestigious prizes awarded by Bibenda and Gambero Rosso: the future of Marotti Campi appears more radiant than ever and full of great satisfactions.
