The organoleptic analysis of this Bortolomiol Winery’s Prosecco Extra Dry shows a straw yellow color with greenish reflections and a fine and persistent perlage. The nose is fruity, delicate and aromatic while in the mouth it is velvety and with a good balance.

Producer Information

Bortolomiol is a sparkling wine producer in the center of the appellation zone of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG. The company was founded by Giuliano Bortolomiol in the 1940s, though the family has been involved in wine production since at least 1760. Guiliano was the first producer to make a Prosecco Brut. Today the winery is run by sisters Maria Elena, Giuliana and Luisa Bortolomiol. The range of sparkling wines is led by the Grande Cuvée del Fondatore Motus Vitae, an homage to Giuliano. It is a Rive (single vineyard) vintage wine made from the San Pietro di Barbozza property. It is a Brut Nature which spends ten months on its lees. The family has renovated a former silk mill within the Parco della Filandetta in the center of Valdobbiadene, converting it into a tasting room. The previous facility now contains a company museum. The winery is also located here, as is, a two hectares (5 acres) of organically farmed vineyards. These vines produce the Ius Naturae Organic cuvée. Two days at harvest are devoted to picking this parcel at optimum ripeness and quality levels. The parco is also home to artworks, an avenue of hornbeam trees. The winery has also introduced the Green Mark project for all of the grape growers who supply them. This contains a number of technical requirements aimed at minimizing environmental impact.
