This cracking cask strength edition comes from Gordon & MacPhail's Benrmoach distillery in Forres. Distilled in 2008 and matured for around a decade before bottling, this 2019 edition is the first batch in the new series of cask strength expressions from the distillery known for 'the classic Speyside single malt'.
Benromach 2008 Cask Strength Batch #1 Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Intensely sherried with stewed fruits and sweet vanilla atop toasted malt and a hint of cooling menthol.
Palate: Cracked black pepper and juicy fruit notes, with hints of orange peel, milk chocolate and smoky edge.
Finish: Creamy and smooth with a lingering chocolatey sweetness and a wisp of smoke.
Distillery Information
Benromach is a Speyside distillery founded by Duncan McCallum and F.W. Brickman in 1898 and currently owned and run by Gordon and Macphail of Elgin. It is situated near Forres in Morayshire and is fed with spring water from the Chapelton Springs in the Romach Hills beside.
