This wonderful 17-year-old single cask expression comes to us from Hunter Laing & Co., the renowned family-run indie bottler. Part of the Old Malt Cask series, this expression was distilled at Islay's Bowmore distillery in 2001 and matured for its full term in a refill barrel before bottling in May 2019 at a preferred strength of 50% abv free from any chill filtration or colouring. Only 122 bottles have been produced.

Nose: Passion fruit, apple and plenty of smoke.

Palate: Sweet notes of mango and caramel with classic Islay peat.

Finish: Long and lingering fruit and smoke notes.

Distillery Information

Bowmore is a distillery that produces scotch whisky on the isle of Islay, an island of the Inner Hebrides. The distillery, which lies on the South Eastern shore of Loch Indaal, is one of the oldest in Scotland and is said to have been established in 1779. The distillery is owned by Beam Suntory who also own the Auchentoshan, Glen Garioch, Laphroaig and Ardmore distilleries and produce the Teacher's Highland Cream blend.
