Driftless Glen Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Whiskey

This is a single barrel (#607) straight bourbon whiskey, aged 31 months. The maturation time closer to 2.5 years puts this as one of the distillery’s earlier releases. The mash bill is comprised of 60% corn, 20% rye and 20% malted barley. It is bottled at 96 proof (48% ABV).

Driftless Glen Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: With flint and slate aromas.

Palate: Starts with piquant flavors of baking spice. This has a mellow intensity to it at midpalate, with some of the sweet corniness showing through.

Finish: With a persistent note of black licorice, a bit of fudge.

Distillery Information

Driftless Glen Distillery is located in Baraboo, WI which you may know as “Circus City.” In 1884, The Ringling Brothers Circus gave their first official performance in Baraboo which contributed to the cities nickname. The Driftless Glen distillery is located next to the Baraboo River in the Driftless region of Wisconsin. The Driftless Glen rye whiskey was the first product distilled and bottled by this company.
