This single cask expression has been brought to us by Elgin's renowned indie bottler, Gordon & MacPhail. Distilled at Glen Albyn in September 1979, this Highland single malt has spent four full decades maturing in a single first fill sherry puncheon. Selected by the Urquhart family (G&M owners) for bottling in September 2019, this 40-year-old expression is presented at a natural cask strength of 52.2% abv. Only 142 bottles have been filled, each one resplendent in the new livery of the Private Collection.

Nose: Juicy black cherries and orange peel with milk chocolate, toffee and mature oak.
Palate: Creamy and sherried with stewed fruits, baked apple and cinnamon, with a white pepper spice and a touch of menthol.
Finish: Cinnamon and baked apple linger on.

Glen Albyn was a Scottish malt whisky distillery in Inverness, Scotland, that operated from 1846 to 1983. It was founded by James Sutherland, who was Provost of Inverness at the time.
