      Detailed Description

A beautifully textured Chardonnay that reflects the elevated volcanic slopes of Moon Mountain District and Hanzell’s longstanding commitment to precision winemaking. The non-vintage format allows the winery to preserve consistency while showcasing the elegance, depth, and age-worthy character that have defined Hanzell Chardonnay for decades.

      Producer Information

Hanzell Vineyards was founded in 1953 by James D. Zellerbach and quickly established itself as one of California’s pioneering estates for cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Located high on the slopes of Sonoma’s Moon Mountain District, the estate helped introduce Burgundian-inspired practices such as estate bottling, temperature-controlled fermentation, and the use of French oak barrels to California winemaking. Hanzell has earned an enduring reputation for producing Chardonnays of remarkable balance, complexity, and longevity. The Moon Mountain District Chardonnay continues that legacy, expressing both the distinctive volcanic terroir of the estate and the meticulous craftsmanship that has made Hanzell one of Sonoma’s most historic and respected producers.
