1792 Sweet Wheat Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Aromas of sweet malt hits the nose first. Followed up by vanilla and hints of caramel. Letting the bourbon open up a bit was beneficial to identify the more subtle notes.

Palate: Sweetened wheat is one of the first distinguishable flavor notes. That sweet wheat note is quickly replaced with warm caramel, vanilla, and dried apricots. Slight notes of citrus became more noticeable the longer the bourbon sat in the glass. The flavor profile of this bourbon became more apparent as the whiskey opened up in the glass for a few minutes. The palate maintained a creamy mouthfeel.

Finish: The finish is relatively short but the creamy texture is still managed through the finish. The sweetness of the bourbon really shines through on both the finish and aftertaste.
