      Detailed Description

The palate is powerful and complex. A wine of great finesse and an impressive length in the mouth.

      Producer Information

Albert Morot is a family-owned wine producer based in the central Burgundian town of Beaune, producing a number of local labels including several premier cru wines from Beaune itself and neighboring communes. The domaine boasts eight hectares (20 acres) of vineyards, including plots in seven Premier Cru climats in Beaune. These include the flagship Les Bressandes vineyard as well as Les Teurons, Les Toussaints, Les Grèves, Les Cent Vignes, Les Aigrots and Les Marconnets. Albert Morot also holds a monopole premier cru vineyard: La Bataillère. This is a 1.87 hectare (4.62 acre) portion of the Les Vergelesses vineyard in Savigny-lès-Beaune originally planted entirely to Pinot Noir although Morot planted 0.67 hectares (1.65 acres) of Chardonnay here in 2013. The estate also produces a Pommard village-level wine from a small holding in the La Rue au Port climat east of the village. The Albert Morot estate was originally established as a négociant business in 1820 by the eponymous Albert Morot. The company bought its first vines in the 1880s, and built its headquarters, the Château de Creusotte, in 1898. After several decades of difficult times – especially post World War Two, when the family had to sell a couple of hectares of vineyard land to stay afloat – Morot's great-granddaughter Françoise Choppin inherited the estate in 1984.
