        Producer Information

Robert Charlemagne started selling his wine in the early 1940s. It was his son-in-law, Jacques Challot, who took over the business and turned it into a profitable business for over 35 years. Of course with the tools that his father-in-law had entrusted to him, such as vinification in thermoregulated barrels. His children, Sophie and Didier, have taken up the torch with the same goal: quality. The vineyard, of just over 4 hectares, is located in the heart of the Cote de Blancs and is planted exclusively with Chardonnay. The company joined Ampelos in March 2000, which pursues a charter of quality, motivated culture with respect for the terroir and authenticity. Didier still works with the traditional press with a separate outlet for cuvée, taille and water (rinse). From 2000 kg of grapes comes about 175 liters of 1st taille, 100 liters of 2nd taille and 1000 liters of cuvée. Total 1275 litres. They also work sustainably in the basement.
