        Producer Information

Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg is a French producer of high-quality Pinot Noir located in the CÎte de Nuits, best known for wines made from the most sought-after vineyards in Burgundy. The domaine was created in 1933 after the marriage of André Mugneret to Jeanne Gibourg of the established Vosne-Romanée Gibourg family. Their son, Georges Mugneret, an ophthalmologist, extended his family's vineyard holdings by buying small plots of land in the 1950s. He began bottling these wines with his own label, Dr Georges Mugneret. The two domaines came together in 2009 under the name of Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg.The vines of Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg had been tended by sharecroppers and remained so even after the merger. Because of this a significant portion of the fruit does not go into Mugneret-Gibourg's wines. The vineyards, however, are some of the most famous and highly regarded in the region, located in esteemed communes such as Nuits-Saint-Georges, Gevery-Chambertin, and Flagey-Echezeaux.
