Already in what feels like its prime drinking window, this is displaying bountiful herbal phenolic flavors, and moving the black fruits into the background. Shadows of earth, cola and dried herbs continue into a fading finish.

Reviews:

• Wine Spectator: Refined and detailed, with slightly brooding blueberry, sandalwood and pepper flavors that expand and take on complexity toward medium-grained tannins.

• James Suckling: This has a very complex, meaty and spicy feel with riper red and dark cherries below. The palate has a very supple feel with fine-grained tannins, carrying fleshy red and blue-fruit flavors. Impressive now, but more to come in a year or two.
