Immediately after pouring, a dark minerality dominates, lots of graphite and Goudron, tobacco, cherry stones and fine smoky notes, along with slightly dried cherry fruit, predominantly dark cherries, blueberries, blackberries, initially more stony and spicy. After an hour of air contact, the whole thing turns in a much sweeter direction, sweet berry fruit, lush, seductive, plum, black cherry. The graphite minerality has given way to sweet spices, liquorice, cocoa, milk chocolate, clove, a hint of marzipan.

Everything is different, because Nikolai doesn't seek attention but lets his wine do the talking. It is a fact that his magnums were and will be sold at fine wine auctions in Zurich, for example to Hong Kong, at prices beyond that. His cheapest wine in Austria costs 126 euros. In Switzerland 145 Swiss francs everything normal. Also, almost everything is sold out in advance. Describing Nikolai is almost impossible, he started out as a complete outsider with the aim of creating the world's best Merlot. Just the thought of a layperson setting such a goal sounds a bit sick. Nikolai traveled to the greats of the wine world, studied their ways and bought a vineyard on the Eichkogel near Gumpoldskirchen. Set the world's best vine material brought in experts and produced.
