Benromach 2008 (bottled 2016) Peat Smoke Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Only produced in small batches, this seriously smoky single malt is one of the few peated expressions from Speyside. Benromach Peat Smoke distilled in 2008 is part of the small number of batches of peated whisky produced at the Speyside distillery. With a level of 47ppm, this is seriously smoky with notes of cracked pepper, orange (without water) or grapefruit (with water).

Nose: The nose offers sweet vanilla, honey and cured meat aromas with hints of apricot, lemon and subtle tobacco notes.

Palate: The palate is full of cracked pepper, sweet strawberry and orange flavours with delicate hints of aniseed.

Finish: A lingering edge of bonfire embers.

Distillery Information

Benromach is a Speyside distillery founded by Duncan McCallum and F.W. Brickman in 1898 and currently owned and run by Gordon and Macphail of Elgin. It is situated near Forres in Morayshire and is fed with spring water from the Chapelton Springs in the Romach Hills beside
