A rather tasty offering from Blackland over in Forth Worth, Texas! Founded in 2017, the brand works with local suppliers to source Texas-grown grain, combining a mash bill of corn, barley, and wheat at the core of this classic bourbon. An enjoyable sipper served neat, and ought to work well in spirit-forward cocktails too.

Blackland Bourbon | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Oaken vanilla and buttered corn, with peppery spice prickling away in the distance.

Palate: More notes of sweet toffee and warm popcorn, with a touch of bitter oak nestling beneath.

Finish: Drizzles of caramel and a final tingle of peppery warmth finish things up.

The Blackland Prairie runs from the Red River to the North down to San Antonio in the South. Lightning fires cleared the land for native tall grass to thrive in the rich dark soil. Working through established practices and challenging convention at each turn, Blackland has Remastered spirits bringing new life into every sip.

Founder Markus Kypreos is a Fort Worth native, attorney, Culinary School of Fort Worth graduate, and certified sommelier. His curious epicurean outlook inspires the venture.

Distiller Ezra Cox has 20 years of experience brewing and distilling, and a deep enthusiasm for creating premium spirits.
