Nose: Red berries, dried figs, currants, honey, vanilla, caramel, and mature oak.
Palate: Caramelized sugar, dark cherry, dried fruit, almond toffee, cocoa, vanilla, and warming spice.
Finish: Long and warming, with dark fruit, honeyed sweetness, oak spice, gentle tannin, and lingering vanilla.
Distillery Information
Blade and Bow pays tribute to the historic Stitzel-Weller Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, where the brand is produced today. The brand was introduced by Diageo in 2015 with an identity centered around Stitzel-Weller’s heritage and the five traditional “keys” of bourbon: grain, yeast, fermentation, distillation, and aging. Blade and Bow is particularly associated with Solera-style fractional blending, in which older and newer whiskey stocks are continually integrated. The 12 Year Old Solera Reserve expands that tradition into a multi-vat finishing system incorporating Cognac, Bordeaux, Moscatel, and Port influences.
