Bruichladdich 7.1 15 Year Old 2007 Jim McEwan Signature Collection Dramfool Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML

This 2007 vintage single malt from Bruichladdich joins the Jim McEwan Signature Collection from Dramfool. The whisky enjoyed a full 15-year maturation in a first-fill sauternes sweet wine barrique, yielding a total of 256 bottles when it was opened in 2023.

Nose: "Its an irresistible mellow mature aroma. The sweet fruity aromatics from the Sauternes-soaked staves has created a halo that embraces the sweetness of malted barley."

Palate: "Absolutely amazing! The sweetness of the barley, the sea air, the French oak and the Atlantic coast maturation for 15 years."

Finish: "The French oak works superbly with the Islay character cradling the mellow French connection and the rest is history."

Distillery Information

"Bruichladdich was built by Barnett Harvey in 1881. Five years later, the Bruichladdich Distillery Company was founded and renovation and refurbishment commenced. The ‘Laddie’, as it is affectionately known, is often considered to be the fruitiest, most inventive Islay malt and, indeed, there has been some contention as to whether it has truly attained Islay-status. Bruichladdich countered this with the introduction of the Port Charlotte range and later with the 2008-released Octomore, the world’s most heavily peated whisky with a phenol content of 131ppm. Then the distillery went almost the complete opposite direction and created The Botanist Gin!"
