Dalmore 40 Year Old Bottled in 2017 Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Distilled at the Dalmore distillery, this Highland single malt was matured for more than three decades in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks for seven years, with a final flourish in first-fill American white oak bourbon barrels. Bottled in 2017 at a strength of 42% abv and presented in a beautiful decanter-style bottle.

Nose: Rich coffee and sweet sultanas, with dates and orange marmalade.

Palate: Gingerbread dripping with molasses and honey-dipped brioche buns.

Finish: Blood orange and Bramley apples with liquorice and coconut.

Distillery Information

"The Dalmore" Distillery is located in Alness, which is 20 miles North of Inverness. It sits on the banks of the Cromarty Firth overlooking the Black Isle, the "big meadowland", from which it takes its name.
