A 1949 vintage Glen Grant from independent bottlers Gordon & Macphail. One of the minority of distilleries in Speyside that can take extended cask maturation, we estimate this was bottled in the 1980s and is therefore well over 30 years old.
Glen Grant 1949 Bot.1980s Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Nose is complex yet not overwhelming.
Palate: There is a much greater presence of peat in the taste than the nose suggests. The smokiness quickly hits the palate and then tapers off.
Finish: This is a very light and refreshing malt.
Distillery Information
Glen Grant is a distillery founded in 1840 in Rothes, Speyside, that produces single malt Scotch whisky. Previously owned by Chivas Brothers Ltd, best known for their Chivas Regal blended scotch whisky, Glen Grant was purchased[2] by the Italian company Campari Group in December 2005.
