The second release in the Bond House No.1 Collection from Glenmorangie, this Highland Single Malt has been matured for 27 years in just a handful of casks including some prestigious ex-Côte-Rôtie oak from the northern Rhône wine region of France. Assembled from some of the last spirit to be distilled in Bond Warehouse No.1, this limited edition is presented at 43% abv in a stunning wooden case.
Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1989 Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Toasted marshmallows, almonds and red fruits, with buttery vanilla fudge, baked apples and a touch of fragrant smoke.
Palate: Oily and rich with a gentle spice, baked apples, fudge, orange blossom, honey and a gentle citrus with hints of eucalyptus.
Finish: Long lasting with sweet aniseed, leather and oak.
Distillery Information
The Glenmorangie distillery was established in 1843, on the Dornoch Firth by brothers William and John Matheson. The site originally held a farm distillery under the name Morangie. There is evidence that distillation was carried out at this site during the early 18th century. Production began in November of 1849. During the latter part of the 19th century Glenmorangie began overseas exportation and destinations included Europe and the United States.
