Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1990 Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The first release in the Bond House No.1 Collection from Glenmorangie, this Highland Single Malt has been nurtured for a quarter of a century in ex-bourbon and a small parcel of ex-sherry casks to produce a floral, fruity expression with an extraordinary level of finesse and vibrancy.

Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1990 Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Heady floral and fruity notes of heather honey, orange blossom, candied fruits, mandarin, pear and apple, with a distinct note of beeswax.

Palate: Silky and creamy while mellow and gentle, succulent oranges, puff candy, honeycomb, vanilla and zest gooseberry with a menthol note.

Finish: More fruits with baked apples and pears along with a brown sugar, malty biscuit and a hint of clove and oak.

Distillery Information

The Glenmorangie distillery was established in 1843, on the Dornoch Firth by brothers William and John Matheson. The site originally held a farm distillery under the name Morangie. There is evidence that distillation was carried out at this site during the early 18th century. Production began in November of 1849. During the latter part of the 19th century Glenmorangie began overseas exportation and destinations included Europe and the United States.
