Inchmoan 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

This 12 year old Highland single malt from Loch Lomond distillery's peated Island Collection is created using a combination of spirit from a traditional swan neck pot still and a unique straight neck pot still to create an unconventional peat character. Matured in a mix of re-charred American oak and refill bourbon casks to give complementary vanilla background notes.

Inchmoan 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Peat smoke with vanilla syrup and cracked black pepper.

Palate: Sweet, medicinal peat, smoky bacon, coffee beans and spicy clove and star anise, developing to fruity green apple and pear.

Finish: Long and waxy with peat and citrus hops.

Distillery Information

Loch Lomond Distillery was commissioned by the Littlemill Distilling Company in 1964 with first distillation in 1966. In 1984, the distillery closed - or fell silent, to use the traditional term. Happily though, Alexander Bulloch and the Glen Catrine company acquired the business and resumed malt production in 1987. Grain whisky production began in 1993 and two new malt stills were added in 1999.
