Lochlea Sowing Edition Third Crop Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML

Since 2022, the Lowlands-based Lochlea distillery has been annually releasing four seasonal single malts that mark different points in the barley-growing calendar. The First Crop releases in 2022 were followed by the Second Crop in 2023, and 2024 sees the series draw to a close with the Third (and final) Crop.

Lochlea Sowing Edition Third Crop Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Toasted almonds, nutty and floral suggestions of baklava.

Palate: Those floral notes carry through with vibrant orchard blossom, fresh apples, and a pinch of pepper.

Finish: Cut grass, sawdust, toasted oak, a touch of vanilla.

Distillery Information

Lochlea was originally a 222-acre livestock farm before being purchased by Neil and Jen McGeoch in 2006. After a successful trial to grow its own barley in 2015, the couple transformed the land and existing farm buildings into a fully operational distillery in 2017 and began distilling the following year.
