The 2001 vintage is exuberant and effusive in the glass. The bouquet offers enticing aromas of citrus blossom, lemongrass, pineapple candy and ripe white peach. Opening with juicy notes of fresh cut pineapple, kadota fig and yellow apple, the palate exhibits energetic acidity and lively mouthfeel. Subtle undertones of citrus, spice drops and a distinctive, flinty minerality carry on throughout and linger on the clean, lasting finish.

Producer Information

Archery Summit is a winery in the Dundee Hills AVA in Oregon, USA. It focuses heavily on Pinot Noir but some Pinot Gris and Chardonnay are also produced. The winery owns six vineyards across the Dundee Hills. The vines tend to be planted close together ensuring low, highly concentrated yields of small berries. Each vineyard is managed according to its needs and the varietal clones and rootstocks used vary widely. The winery uses organic and some biodynamic practices and the grapes are all hand picked. The winery uses processes best suited for Pinot varieties, mixing a blend of both traditional and modern techniques. A pioneer of the gravity flow system of winemaking, mechanical pumps have been eschewed. Uniquely within Oregon, the maturation cellars are carved from natural caves in the volcanic rock underneath the winery. Visitors can take tours around both the winery and cellars.
