                                              Producer Information

Historically the vineyard is divided into Vigna Pianpolvere and Vigna Pianpolvere Soprano, exclusive property of Rocche dei Manzoni. The name “Pianpolvere Soprano” dates back to the end of the 1700s when Napoleon Bonaparte built a powder magazine on this plot. In a subsequent era, it became ecclesiastical property and at the beginning of 1900 it was purchased by the Fenocchio family who vinified its grapes for sixty-eight years. Since 1998 it has become the property of the Migliorini family, already producers in Monforte d'Alba at Podere Rocche dei Manzoni . A new project begins in 2020: Barolo Pianpolvere Soprano Bussia, an exclusive wine for the Italian market, which offers a younger version of the already well-known Barolo Pianpolvere Soprano Riserva. A result made possible thanks to the replanted vines which have finally reached an age suitable for the creation of a wine with shorter aging (4 years) compared to the Reserve (between 7 and 10 years), which has nevertheless remained faithful to the terroir showing all its its best virtues.
