      Detailed Description

Wet stone and honey on the nose. Sweeter and more pliant than the Caillerets, but without quite the verve of that wine. Nicely intense flavors of pit fruits and stone. Finishes dry and tactile, with notes of honey and stone and very good length.

        Reviews:

        • Wine Advocate: The 2002 Puligny-Montrachet Les Demoiselles, sporting a nose of minerals and flowers, has a fleshy, sappy, medium-bodied personality. Satiny-textured and rich, it coats the palate with loads of limestone, mineral, liquid rock, and sap flavors. This is a deep wine of outstanding purity and elegance.
        • Burghound: A gently, almost softly oaked character wraps around fresh, bright, sweet and gorgeously complex aromas that merge seamlessly into precise, moderately dense middle weight flavors that display superb acid/fruit balance and stunning length. There is plenty of punch of the strikingly long finish and like the Caillerets before it, this is very classy juice...Guy Amiot's son Thierry told me that he very much likes his 2002 reds as they are exceptionally well balanced and offer particularly good cellar potential. He noted that "we had very good sugars with even the Bourgogne surpassing 12% and the wines are so fresh that we are in no rush to bottle". Amiot indicated that the wines would be bottled shortly after I tasted them in very early March.
