This wine simultaneously exudes power and finesse, structure and elegance, extraction and grace. Pushes ripe fruit to the edge of jam, with blackberry and wild berry flavours that are more supple and balanced on the palate than the aromas suggest.

Producer Information
David Arthur Vineyards is a Napa Valley wine producer located on Pritchard Hill. The estate is best known for its high-elevation Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines, notably its flagship wine Elevation 1147. The estate's property was attained by Don Long from the late 1950s but it was not until 1978 that Don and his son, David Arthur, began planting grapevines. The inaugural vintage from the label was produced in 1991. The estate is planted to around 8ha (19 acres) of vineyard land that sits at an average elevation of 1200ft (366m) above the valley floor. The vineyards, located on Napa Valley's eastern ridge, are planted to varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Nebbiolo. The soils are volcanic, rocky, and low in vigor which is ideal for the production of Cabernet Sauvignon. Elevation 1147 β named after the elevation of the vineyard the fruit grows from β is 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon from the best fruit at the estate's Elevation Block vineyard. The wine ages in 100 percent new French oak. Other wines produced at David Arthur include Bordeaux-style blends, Chardonnay sourced from Atlas Peak and Oak Knoll District and a rosΓ© produced with Pinot Noir sourced from Carneros.
