Fruity explosion, balanced between exotic fruits, citrus fruits and vine peach with freshness and purity. Ample, powerful, concentrated and very mineral on the palate. The acidity balances this richness well and prolongs the wine for a long time in remarkable harmony.

• Wine Advocate: Compared to 2006 and 2007, the 2008 dry white wines of Bordeaux are inferior, but that does not mean they are not very good. They do not possess the flesh, power, or richness of the 2006 and 2007, but they reveal precise, intensely aromatic personalities, lighter bodies, and more noticeable acidity. These remain among the world’s most underrated world-class dry white wines. I will provide full tasting notes once they are in bottle, but following are the dry whites I tasted along with their approximate scores.

• Wine Spectator: This white has weight, along with a lightly waxy edge, but there's serious zip as well, enlivening the tangerine, white peach, lime and clementine fruit flavors, with a long, enticing finish.

Domaine de Chevalier is located in a clearing in the middle of a forest that protects the vines from extremes of temprature. In fact Chevalier is a sort of secret garden, far from the limelight. This is something of a paradox for such an excellent wine, among the greatest in Bordeaux.
Only a great terroir can produce a great wine... I often start out with these words when speaking about Domaine de Chevalier. They convey our fundamental philosophy, not only with regard to viticulture, but also the spirit that pervades the estate and the men and women who work here. They improve their already considerable skills year after year on behalf of that which is most essential to a fine wine; in my opinion balance.
