      Reviews:

      • Wine Advocate: The least expensive wine is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Brio Estate, which is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc blend. I suspect, in essence, that this is their second wine, although there was no admission to that. It is a more evolved, faster-aging style of wine with notes of spice box, cedar wood, incense, forest floor, tobacco leaf and blackcurrants. It is Bordeaux-like, but rich, fleshy and medium to full-bodied.
      • Vinous: The 2013 Brio is dark, pliant and wonderfully expressive today. Dark red cherry, plum, spice, dark chocolate, new leather, French oak and open-knit aromatics are some of the signatures. Far from a second wine, the Brio is rich and exuberant, with plenty of vintage signatures and tons of personality. This is a terrific wine in a great Napa Valley vintage.

      Producer Information

From its stunning 110-acre property on Pritchard Hill overlooking Oakville, Brand Napa Valley has cultivated three distinct estate vineyards ranging from 1200-1400 feet in elevation. A total of 12 planted acres are organically farmed and thoughtfully cultivated. There are a total of 17 individual vineyard blocks curated to 13 different rootstock and clonal combinations of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The low yielding vines are farmed to express the power and beauty of this distinctive hillside property. In 2019, the estate was acquired by long-time Napa Valley grape growers and former Apple executives Jim Bean and Christine O’Sullivan. In 2020, biodynamic practices were initiated because BRAND believes what is below the ground should be as full of life as what grows above.
