      Producer Information

Corte Giara is an Italian wine producer, based in the winegrowing region of Veneto. It was founded as a négotiant business by the Allegrini family in 1989 in an effort to expand its portfolio with several international grape varieties, as well as Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara. The brand sources grapes from a selection of winegrowers across Veneto as well as its 33 hectare (82 acre) estate situated in the Bardolino Classico zone, within the commune of Cavaion Veronese. The estate's Valpolicella wine range is led by its Amarone della Valpolicella, produced from 70 percent Corvina and 30 percent Rondinella. It spends 15 months aging in a combination of Slavonian oak barrels and second-use barriques, before spending a further six months aging in the bottle prior to release. The Corte Giara Valpolicella wine range also includes a Recioto della Valpolicella, Valpolicella Ripasso and a standard Valpolicella wine. These wines sit alongside other regional Venetian wines including Soave and Bardolino, the latter in both red and rosé expressions. The grapes are cultivated on southwest-facing hills around Lake Garda and are harvested by hand from vines averaging 28 years old. The estate's more international wine portfolio includes varietal Chardonnay and Merlot wines.
