Size: 750ml

ABV: 12.5%

Varietal: Chardonnay

    Country/Region: France, Burgundy

      Detailed Description

Armand Heitz's wines are aromatic, extremely balanced and expressive of their terroir - classic nods to old-school Burgundy winemaking practices. The nose is aromatic. It reveals fine notes of yellow apple and a few notes of leather associated with touches of citrus and crispy pear. The palate is fruity, mineral, elegant, racy, quite fat and offers fleshiness and a fresh / slightly acidic frame.

      Producer Information

The history of the estate begins with the Nié-Vantey family. The family then owned vines from Santenay to Clos de Vougeot and had a significant trading activity. With the phylloxera crisis, many vines are sold. Mr. Georges Lochardet, a great wine merchant on the Côte de Beaune, marries Marcelle Nié. They then owned twenty hectares of vines as well as several farms. Their son Armand Lochardet inherited half of the estate, which he operated before passing it on to his three children, Bernard, Catherine and Brigitte. Brigitte Lochardet married Christian Heitz and created the Heitz-Lochardet estate a few years later. All of the vine cultivation work is carried out as a service by Joseph Drouhin, whose head office is in Beaune. She works the estate's vines rigorously, applying the principles of organic viticulture. Thus assured of the quality of the grapes, Maison Joseph Drouhin buys the harvest until 2012. Armand Heitz, the grandson of Armand Lochardet, obtained his oenologist diploma after his studies at the Changins engineering school in Switzerland and then took over the reins of the Domaine. In 2012, Armand began growing vines on a plot of Burgundy Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. After this experience, the estate decided to expand in order to offer a more diversified palette of appellations: the adventure was launched!
