This whiskey matured in a 1st fill Sauternes Wine Hogshead cask and was produced as a single cask bottling with the cask number CM4. In total, only 283 bottles of this precious elixir were produced.

Nose: A hint of peat smoke and spices is noticeable before it ends with a subtle camphor and menthol.

Palate: Fresh and slightly peppery introduction before meeting the intense sweetness of grilled mangoes and salty fruits.

Finish: Lingering finish that leaves a lasting impression.

Distillery Information

The stills of the Glenglassaugh distillery fell silent in November of 1986. Following the closure, a handful of official bottlings have been released. In 2008, the Dutch-based Scaent Group acquired the distillery for £5 million and reopened it in November of that year. The Glenglassaugh distillery sits on a hillside in the Glassaugh Glen in close proximity to the sea.
