Detailed Description
Detailed Description
A stunning blended malt Scotch whisky here. We can't tell you where from, because someone's gone and covered up the name of the distillery on the label. OK, that was us, but we still can't tell you precisely what liquid has gone into this exquisite blend. What we can tell you is that it's a teaspooned malt, meaning that the vast majority of the liquid comes from one distillery, with just a splash added from another. It also spent 19 years in refill hogsheads between 1999 and 2018. A release of 88 bottles.
Blended Malt 19 Year Old 1999 (Private Label) | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: A hearty aroma of aged oak starts things off, with stewed pear drizzled in honey. A hint of orange zest follows, with raisins and dates in tow.
Palate: Crunchie bar sweetness with juicy sultanas. Crystalised ginger and pepper, with floral malt and vanilla sticking around.
Finish: Peppery, spicy barley calmed by burnt sugar, crumbly fudge, and floral tea.
Distillery Information
Master of Malt was founded in 1985 as a retailer and bottler of whisky and other fine spirits. Today, we bottle new whiskies all the time, and our policy is simple: we only ever put our name on anything that makes us go âWow!â Thatâs all there is to it! Being extremely picky, we regularly try dozens of cask samples before we find one weâre willing to bottle (trying glass after glass of fine Scotch whisky is harder than it sounds!). We also dearly love to bottle unusual whiskies too. When it comes to bottling, we like to leave things unadulterated. We never add caramel colouring to our whiskies, and we prefer to leave them at natural cask strength. In the rare occasion when we lower the bottling strength we never, ever use chill-filtration, as we believe this affects the flavour of good spirit, and we canât have that! We also offer 3cl whisky samples of as many of our own bottlings as possible, to give you the opportunity to try before you buy. Plus, if youâre looking for an extra special gift, we are more than happy to personalise anything from our own range...
