This single malt from Clynelish was distilled on November 21, 1995 and then matured for 23 years in refill sherry but no. 11246. The bottling for Signatory Vintage took place on February 8, 2019 in an edition of 501 bottles at cask strength with 53.7% vol.

Nose: Sherry, sultanas, complex fruity features, subtle blueberry preserves, cured pipe tobacco, citrus, mandarin orange, new cured waxed saddle leather, ethanol, more orange marmalade, honey, very slight swimming pool chlorine, slight sulfur/matchbox.

Palate: Sherry, oak spice, citrus, clover honey, sulfur, strong centric body prior to finish With water, slight horseradish, but it eases into honey, sherry and aged oak spice.

Finish: Oak noticeable in a full pleasant pepper exit with honey and sherry aspects, slight but not overwhelming sulfur for the sensitive.

Distillery Information

The original Clynelish distillery was built in 1819, adjacent to the present Clynelish distillery, which was built in 1967. When Clynelish first started distilling, in the years 1820-1822, they were producing around 12,000 gallons (around 54,000 litres) per year.
