Nose: Apple, pear, vanilla, quince, lemon peel, icing sugar, minerals, chalky, limestone, apricot, peach, honeydew, spices, pepper, hay, cereals, hint of oak wood.

Palate: Little punchy, oily, waxy, fruity, vanilla, honey, yellow fruits, peach, apple, pear, good sweetness, pepper, spices, minerals again, hint of ginger, ripe banana, custard cream.

Finish: Medium long, warm, vanilla, honey, spices, fruity.

Distillery Information

The original Clynelish distillery was built in 1819, adjacent to the present Clynelish distillery, which was built in 1967. When Clynelish first started distilling, in the years 1820-1822, they were producing around 12,000 gallons (around 54,000 litres) per year.
