Detailed Description

Efe Fresh Grapes is the first fresh grapes raki of Turkey. The formula is inspired by the remarkable smoothness and fruitiness of fresh grapes alcohol when compared to dry grapes (raisins) alcohol. Raisins had been the main raw material of raki until the launch of Efe Fresh Grapes. In the making of Efe Fresh Grapes, alcohol distilled from select fresh grapes of Aegean Region is re-distilled in copper alembics with aniseeds to a unique recipe.

Efe Fresh Grapes Raki Liqueur Tasting Notes

Nose: Aniseed & intense sweet and tart grape.

Palate: A burst of juicy, ripe concord grapes.

Finish: Clean and ultra smooth.

Distillery Information

The distillery had still made in Scotland by Northern Fabricators in Elgin and by all accounts produced a good tasting dram. The Turkish government passed legislation in the early 2000's however that allowed to Tekel to be privatised and the new owners shut the distilling operation down in 2002. The still shave since been purchased by the Virginia Distillery Company who have them hard at work in the US. Ankara meanwhile has become unusually collectible.
