Espolòn Extra Añejo Tequila is the oldest expression in the Espolòn range, crafted from 100% Blue Weber agave and matured for an extended period in American oak barrels before a finishing period in Wild Turkey bourbon casks. This additional aging creates a luxurious balance between rich oak influence and the naturally sweet character of cooked agave. Layers of caramel, vanilla, dried fruit, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and warm spices make it an elegant sipping tequila with exceptional depth and complexity.

Nose: Cooked agave, vanilla, caramel, toasted oak, dried figs, raisins, dark chocolate, cinnamon, roasted coffee, and orange peel.

Palate: Rich caramel, honey, roasted agave, vanilla cream, dried fruit, dark chocolate, toasted oak, nutmeg, cinnamon, roasted almonds, and subtle tobacco with a silky, full-bodied texture.

Finish: Long and refined, with lingering notes of sweet agave, vanilla, dark chocolate, oak spice, dried fruit, roasted coffee, and gentle warmth.

Distillery Information

Destiladora San Nicolás was established in the Highlands of Jalisco under the guidance of Master Distiller Cirilo Oropeza, whose vision was to produce a tequila that honored traditional craftsmanship while remaining approachable and innovative. Espolòn takes its name from the rooster’s spur, a symbol of strength and Mexican pride, with each bottle featuring artwork inspired by José Guadalupe Posada and Mexico’s rich cultural heritage. The distillery combines traditional brick ovens, copper pot stills, and carefully selected American oak barrels to create tequilas with vibrant agave character and remarkable balance. Today, Espolòn is recognized as one of Mexico’s most acclaimed premium tequila brands, earning international awards for its quality, craftsmanship, and distinctive identity.
