The Macallan Concept No. 3 (Limited Edition) is, as the name suggests, the 3 Edition and Limited Edition release of this successful Macallan series.
The Macallan Concept Number 3 fuses whiskey and design through the latest collaboration with David Carson, one of the most influential and revolutionary contemporary graphic designers.
Carson brought his perspective and unique style to the design of Concept Number 3. He was inspired by his time at the Macallan Estate working with Polly Logan, The Macallan's whiskey maker. David is best known for his innovative magazine design and use of distinctive, experimental typography. He designed the packaging and label for the third and final addition to the Concept range.
The very colorful box looks very high quality and underlines the great and unique Macallan whiskey.

Macallan Concept Number 3 David Carson Single Malt 2020 Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet fresh pear and apricot, gentle oak spice - cinnamon and ginger. Vanilla with sweet citrus fruits.

Palate: Warming oak spice, apple, pear, vanilla with a delicate herb influence. Full, creamy mouthfeel like a pasteis de nata.

Finish: Medium sweet with pastries.

Distillery Information

The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray, Scotland. The Macallan Distillers Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Edrington, which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999. The Macallan is generally considered to be the second or third highest-selling single-malt scotch, next to Glenfiddich and, by some accounts, Glenlivet. Originally, The Macallan was matured only in oak sherry casks brought to the distillery from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Beginning in 2004, The Macallan introduced a new main product, the Fine Oak series, with the whisky mellowed in bourbon oak casks as well as sherry ones. In 2018, the Fine Oak series was renamed as the Triple Cask Matured range.
