Nose: Decadent and aromatic with rich chocolate, toasted hazelnut, ripe strawberry, and bright herbal tones. Additional layers of baking spice, baked apple, dark cherry, leather, and tobacco emerge as it opens in the glass

Palate: Bold and concentrated with waves of citrus oils, burnt sugar, sandalwood, peppercorn, and eucalyptus. The mid-palate evolves into dark fruit, cinnamon bark, gingerbread, black cherry, mint, vanilla cream, and dark chocolate, balanced by classic rye spice and an oily, velvety mouthfeel.

Finish: Long, warming, and spice-driven with lingering earthy peppercorn, toasted oak, cedar, eucalyptus, orange zest, dark cocoa, and leather. The finish remains exceptionally layered and textured with a slow fade of rye spice and sweet oak.

Distillery Information

"Old Forester is named after a prominent physician and friend of GGB, Dr. William Forrester who endorsed Brown's innovative concept of medicinal whisky sold only in sealed glass bottles. Old Forester, originally spelled with 2 “r”s to be associated with the doctor, drops the second “r” when Forrester retired."
