Detailed Description

Pisco Caravedo (Formerly Pisco Porton) is crafted by hand in small batches using traditional artisanal distilling techniques, resulting in the finest expression of pisco, Peru’s national spirit. Distilled entirely from grapes and completely unaltered without even the addition of water, Pisco Caravedo is a mixable and versatile white spirit dedicated to honoring the spirit of tradition, craft, and adventure.

Caravedo Pisco Porton Tasting Notes

Nose: Earthy, a touch sweet with nuts, lemon balm, savory notes on the nose.

Palate: Nut buttery mouth feel, nice tingle on the tongue.

Finish: Medium-length finish with a wonderful lingering.

Distillery Information

Hacienda La Caravedo is the oldest working distillery in the Americas and the place where they make Pisco Caravedo. It's located in Ica, Peru, about a four hour drive south of Lima.The distillery is an imaginative combination of the very old part dating to the 1600s and a very new part dating back a couple of years. The original distillery was all run by gravity. A schematic from the Porton brand book is below. The process goes grapes to juice to resting to fermentation to distillation to resting again.
