Port Dundas 18 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky

While single grain whisky produced at Port Dundas has been used in third-party bottlings such as Douglas Laing’s Old Particular range, this is the first distillery bottling, outside of Diageo’s Special Releases. A 12 year old Port Dundas was also released alongside this 18 year old. Port Dundas ceased to exist in 2010. Luckily for us there is remaining original stock to offer up a limited amount of 18 year old whisky.

Port Dundas 18 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Weetabix, walnuts, black pepper and vanilla fudge.

Palate: Dry faintly smoky oak, walnuts, black pepper and vanilla fudge.

Finish: Dry walnuts, oak cakes and vanilla.

Distillery Information

Port Dundas. Built in 1811 at the highest point in the city of Glasgow, at its peak Port Dundas was the largest distillery in Scotland, termed the blending powerhouse of Scotland. The distillery was one of the founding members of the grain distillers' conglomerate DCL.
