Sugarlands Shine | Talladega 50th Anniversary Corn Whiskey

Sugarlands Distilling Company is the Official Moonshine of NASCAR and the primary sponsor of the 2019 NASCAR Truck Series at Talladega Superspeedway. The Sugarlands Distillery grinds their own grain and distill their products onsite in Gatlinburg Tennessee and their corn whiskey is made from Tennessee white corn. Take a sip straight from the jar and pass it around, or mix 50th Anniversary Talladega Corn Whiskey in a cocktail. Either way be prepared, the restrictor plates are off!

Nose: Boiled corn and apple cider

Palate: Apple cider, mint and licorice

Finish: Long and warming with apple peel, whole kernel corn and violet flavor

Distillery Information

Opened in downtown Gatlinburg, Tennessee in 2014, Sugarlands Distilling Company produces craft-quality moonshine and whiskey. Using an artisanal stone mill to grind grains like corn and rye into meal, Sugarlands Distilling Company then mixes in pure Smoky Mountain water to create the mash. From there, the liquid is transferred to the fermenter to simmer for a few days, and when the time is right, that "wash" is pumped into the copper pot still where it is heated and distilled. The alcohol vapor filters through the copper pipes and rises through the plates of the distillation column, down through the chilling column to cool and is finally poured out of the Spirit Safe.
