      Detailed Description

The palate is powerful and complex. A wine of great finesse and an impressive length in the mouth.

        Producer Information

Domaine Ballot-Millot et Fils is a wine producer based in the town of Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy's Côte d'Or heartland, known for its local Chardonnay and Pinot Noir-based wines from both Meursault itself and neighboring and nearby communes. The estate dates back through the Ballot-Millot families to the 18th Century and is currently run by Charles Ballot, who took over the estate in 2000. The domaine's vineyard holdings cover over 10 hectares (25 acres) of which eight hectares (20 aces) are the local mainstay: Chardonnay (Ballot-Millot has plots in both Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet). The remaining two hectares (five acres) is Pinot Noir, with vineyard holdings in the communes of Pommard, Volnay and Beaune to the north. The estate also boasts a half-hectare (just over one acre) of Aligoté. Labels include a raft of premier cru vineyards, including Pinot Noirs from Taillepieds in Volnay, Les Epenottes (Beaune) and Meursault's own Santenots vineyard (albeit labeled as Volnay as is customary for the red wines from this vineyard). The majority of holdings are Chardonnay sites in Meursault. These include the premiers crus Charmes, Perrières and Genevrières as well as the village-level Narvaux site. A Bourgogne Blanc (often labeled as Bourgogne Chardonnay) is also produced from holdings in Meursault and Chassagne.
