        Producer Information

Corino Giovanni di Corino Giuliano is an Italian wine producer situated in Langhe, in the northwestern region of Piedmont. The estate specializes in the three classic red grape varieties of Langhe: Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. The Corino family founded the estate after relocating to La Morra in 1952. Over the next few decades, vineyard holdings grew to encompass 15 hectares (37 acres), and in the mid-1980s the estate produced its inaugural Barolo vintage. In 2005, brothers Giuliano and Renato Corino parted ways and divided the family business between themselves, with Giuliano taking responsibility for 8ha (20 acres) of the estate. Corino Giovanni di Corino Giuliano devotes approximately 5ha (12 acres) of its vineyards to the cultivation of the Nebbiolo grape variety, with the remaining 3ha (7 acres) planted equally with Barbera and Dolcetto. These vineyard plots are planted on clayey-calcareous and clay soils, and enjoy a variety of different aspects. The estate produces approximately 50,000 bottles of wine per year, the majority of which are Barolo. Corino's wine portfolio includes three single-vineyard "cru" Barolo expressions, along with a selection of Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo and Langhe Rosso wines. Typically, Corino barrel-age Barolo wines in a combination of new and old French oak for approximately two years, followed by six months in steel vats. These wines are then bottle-aged for two years prior to release.
