      Detailed Description

Château Phélan-Ségur is a beautiful 70-hectare estate situated in the Saint-Estèphe appellation. The 2008 is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot and boasts a profile of blueberry and cassis fruit together with floral and charcoal nuances.

        Reviews:

        • Wine Advocate: A sleeper of the vintage, the 2008 is the finest Phelan-Segur since the 1990. It possesses a dense ruby/purple color as well as loads of blueberry and cassis fruit intertwined with hints of charcoal and that unmistakable floral note that appears in many of the 2008s.
        • Wine Enthusiast: This is a woody, toasty wine, which seems to be the style here for the last several years. It has weight, but does need time for the wood to subside and bring out the elegant fruits.
