Deep shades of reds and purples present in this single vineyard Merlot. Aromas of black cherry and black plum combine with a thread of raspberry and mocha and a hint of vanillin extract. Flavors of black plum persist with fresh raspberry coupled with mocha and elegant toasted oak. This is a gracefully structured wine of fine texture and terrific length.

• Wine Spectator: Crisp and direct, offering a pure-tasting blend of dried red fruit and berry flavors that are matched to concentrated savory accents. The zesty finish shows slate and flinty accents.

• James Suckling: A very ripe merlot with light jam and orange-peel aromas and flavors. Full-bodied with medium tannins and lots of fruit in a rather fluid center-palate.

The winery in Rutherford is home to winemaking, visitor facilities, and 35 acres planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. All the estate acreage owned by St. Supéry is farmed sustainably using minimal intervention and cultivation.
