        Reviews:

        • Wine Advocate: The 2019 Corton Grand Cru has also turned out very well, exhibiting aromas of red berries, spices, forest floor and orange oil. Full-bodied, layered and perfumed, with fine concentration, powdery tannins and lively acids, it's elegantly muscular in profile, concluding with a long, sapid finish. As I've written before, this comes from Les Meix and Les Chaumes, lieux-dits below Pougets and just above the village of Aloxe-Corton.
        • Burghound: A brooding and inexpressive nose reluctantly offers up notes of various dark berries, earth and a whiff of the sauvage. The middle weight flavors possess excellent detail and verve but not the same density on the mildly rustic finale.

        Producer Information

Domaine Rapet Père et Fils is a Burgundy wine estate situated in the village of Pernand-Vergelesses. The family-owned domaine can trace its foundations back to 1765, and is today managed by Vincent Rapet. Since taking over the reins in the 1990s, Vincent Rapet has overseen the construction of a new winery in 2003, and has expanded the domaine's vineyard holdings. The domaine now spans 18 hectares (44.5 acres) of land that encompasses three grand cru vineyard sites in Corton, and ten premier cru vineyard plots across the villages of Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Savigny-les-Beaune. Domaine Rapet produces three grand cru wines from plots in Corton, Corton Pougets and Corton-Charlemagne. The Corton-Charlemagne grand cru is the only white wine in this trio and is made from Chardonnay. After fermentation in 30 percent new oak barrels, the wine is aged on its lees and bottled after 12 months. The Pinot Noir grapes destined for the Corton Pougets and Corton-Charlemagne grand crus are fermented for approximately two weeks, aged in 40 percent new oak barrels and bottled using filtration. The domaine also produces a selection of village-level wines from vineyard holdings in Aloxe-Corton, Savigny-lès-Beaune and Pernand-Vergelesses. Unusually, Domaine Rapet Père et Fils produces a single Bourgogne Aligoté wine from its 1ha (2 acre) plot of Aligoté vines.
