Coming in at 30 years old, some of the malts that make up the blend hail from closed distilleries and date back to the 1960s. A vatting of old Signatory cask samples and bottling run ends were married and put into a fresh sherry butt, before being bottled at cask strength.
30 Year Old Blended Malt - Notable Age Statements (Decadent Drinks) | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Dried fruit and wood varnish, macerated orange peel, a “dusty” note like old books mixed with leather and aged pine, subtle mint and eucalyptus.
Palate: Showing tobacco and a hint of grapefruit. Light leafy notes, as well as some old woody character.
Finish: Decent length, but slightly thin, on drying leafy notes, walnuts and dried herbs.
